PERSONAL INJURY
WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ACCIDENT
(PRINT THIS AND KEEP WITH YOU)
1. Call the police and always remain on the scene - the police report serves
as an official record of the accident, which is very beneficial in determining liability.
2. Do not move your vehicle if at all possible.
3. Take pictures of the accident scene - use your camera or cell phone for
documentation.
4. Identify drivers - retrieve the names and addresses of the drivers involved and
ask for their telephone numbers. Also get contact information of any
witnesses present, as well as their comments or statements.
5. Insurance - exchange insurance information. Contact your insurance company
as soon as possible.
6. Do not admit responsibility - in talking to the police, do not admit liability.
Let the investigation determine who is at fault.
7. Seek medical attention - DO NOT CLAIM "NO INJURIES" Injuries are not
always immediately apparent.
8. Don't agree to an insurance interview - see #10
9. Keep a journal of how you feel - physical activity, limitation, lost work
wages, expense receipts, etc.
10. Contact the Law Offices of Joe Saienni - with our help, you may be able
to receive compensation for your injuries, lost wages and damage to your vehicle.
And we don't ask for any out-of-pocket costs until we recover for you.
